Our Heritage

The Story of Almusam

A bridge connecting our kitchen in Davao City to your home in the UK.

A Simple Memory of Home

Almusam began from a simple memory of home—one that stayed with us long after we left Davao City. As a husband-and-wife team born and raised in a community where food was the heart of every celebration, we grew up surrounded by flavours that shaped our childhood and defined what comfort meant to us.

Almusam Davao Roots

From Our Family Restaurant to Local Shelves

Our story starts in the kitchen of our family’s restaurant, where the aroma of simmering sauces and freshly prepared dishes filled our days. Food wasn’t just a business—it was a family tradition.

"The recipes we use today were passed down through generations, perfected over time, and loved by our hometown."

Back in Davao, our products were supplied to local shops and even found their way onto the shelves of a well-known grocery store—a proud reminder of our roots.

Family Kitchen Tradition

Continuing the Tradition in the UK

When we moved to the UK, we carried those memories with us. But as the days went by, we found ourselves longing for the familiar taste of home—the kind that instantly brings you back to family gatherings, early-morning meals, and the warmth of being surrounded by loved ones.

So, we turned to the recipe we grew up with. My husband prepares each batch with the same care and dedication our family taught us, and I remain the official taste tester, making sure every single bite feels exactly like home.

Handmade Batches Cooking

What began as something we shared with family here in the UK soon spread to friends, and eventually to kababayans searching for that unmistakable Davao-style flavour. The response reminded us of why these recipes matter—they carry stories, memories, and a sense of belonging.

Our Mission

Flavours That Tell A Story

Almusam is our way of keeping those flavours alive. It’s a celebration of heritage, a tribute to the kitchen we grew up in, and a bridge connecting us to home, no matter where we are in the world. Today, our mission is simple: to share honest, heartwarming food made with love, tradition, and pride—not just with fellow Filipinos, but with anyone who appreciates authentic food that tells a story.
